Mental Health Worker - Housing Specialist

Merakey is currently seeking Mental Health Worker to join our Adult Behavioral Health Division in our Sharon Hill, PA location.

_POSITION DETAILS_
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
+ Under the direction of the Team Lead, this position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing comprehensive services for adult mental health clients in the community.
+ This position carries primary responsibility for up to 10 clients, with secondary responsibility to provide services as a member of the team.
+ Primary job functions will include the provision of case management, supportive counseling, rehabilitative and vocational services, and crisis management.
+ Assertive, community based provision of services will require a flexible schedule and will include on-call responsibilities.
+ Responsible for creating new housing opportunities within the community and maintaining contact with landlords and residential providers.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with local housing vendors. These include private landlords, the local housing authorities, personal care homes, and other providers that offer housing to the consumers.
+ Arrange and coordinate with moving companies and/or vendors as needed.
+ Meet with potential housing vendors to talk about the consumers, their needs, and what the ACT program can and does offer so that there is a clear picture of what the vendor can expect if housing is offered.
+ Coordinate and support arrangements for lease agreements, security deposits, financial subsidies and or rental and homeowner insurance.
+ Complete any and all paperwork necessary for someone to receive a housing voucher, be placed on a housing list, or receive housing assistance.
+ Keep abreast of any local and state housing initiatives, changes and opportunities for the consumers.
+ Other job duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor's degree in human service field.
+ 1 year experience in the mental health field working with adults.
+ Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery driven service system.
+ Experience assisting consumers with obtaining housing preferred
+ Valid PA Drivers License

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
